I revisited in the past week Eugene Ionesco after more than ten years: a theatre play collection of The chairs, The Lesson, Victims of Duty, Jack or the Submission, and Amédée, or How to Get Rid of It to mention a few. Absolutely amazing.

Interestingly enough now I stopped seeing the absurd in his plays, but more the incredibly crisp evaluation of human moments: childhood and adolescence: gathering and passing on of knowledge, burst of adolescence with its freedom quest and love motions; adult life: emotional distress and subconscious burst of blockage, artist and the quest for inspiration; old age: memories and death, the theatre subject as such.

By far the most authentic writer and the best book I have read in the entire year: and I have struggled a bit with books, trying old and new, famous or not, awarded or not - after this true literary experience, I can say that one year of reading resumes to “books, three at the price of two”. Ionesco on the other hand, even though i have known his works since school, I have never paid too much attention to him: in my mind, the term “absurd” had secluded his works in the idea of manipulating form in its most pure sense. I could say: form which leaves meaning as a side note; now, though, I have discovered incredibly succulent meaning in its plays - true metaphors that create powerful messages in the reader’s mind.

Going back to Schwartz Responsive Chord, I truly see Ionesco as a point of art expression where the chord is touched in the most ingenious way.

I have always been interested in how publishers, and I mean, big publishers, have constructed their presences online, and BCC and CCN - just to make a silly joke - were THE ones I have always looked up to and always checked their online presence for the trends.

In the last three months, though, I’ve rather watched BBC on telly, than checked the news online, while for CNN, I only watched during some business trips to US.

Today, after a long long time, I had again this idea … let’s see what news CNN has & what is on BBC, what are their designers doing … well, I was in it for a surprise .. : the sites look like each other. One might get to the idea that BBC and CNN will soon merge. Hehehe … I don’t really wish I’ll see it, cause that really means economy goes to dust … though it does look like the two want to make a pact of non-aggression, or they’ve both found the key to usability going through the same layout and color codes. Ah, another explanation could be that they share the same design agency designer

I am mean, I know. But look at the two printscreens, and then remember how many and significant differences were between the two giants, just half a year ago. To be even more mean, I would say that in this merge CNN is the one buying out BBC, since CNN’s design is a bit better. Eh, just being mean.
Cuil.com, pronounced cool , is a search engine that not only provides results faster than google, but organizes information upon relevancy. God, that is refreshing!

I’ve searched for the keyword “streaming” and the results that i have received are organized into tabs: all results / streaming video / streaming audio / streaming media / etc Plus, each tab has a category organization that helps you better navigate through the results. So you either browse the results in the list, as you did before on google, or yahoo or any other search engine, or you use the embedded classification.
